Celebrations and traditions

The citizens of El Vendrell are hard-working people with a festive soul which comes to life when the time comes to celebrate the local festivals that mark the turning of the year. Some of the typical celebrations of the town have ancestral origins, for example the Pa Beneit (blessed bread) festival, which is celebrated by all the local districts at the beginning of July. Other celebrations which are more recently established, but also very popular are celebrated in the village, such as the Bicycle festival. The two most important festivals in the town are the Festa Major (town festival), held on Saint Anne’s day, and the Fira in October, which has been celebrated since 1829.
